The next installment of the Battlefield series is nearly here. Battlefield 4 is set to be released on October 29th, 2013. However, many players are able to join the fight early thanks to a multiplayer beta that will go live in just a few hours.
That multiplayer beta will go live at 2am on October 1st for a limited number of people. Those who get first access to Battlefield 4 include:
-Battlefield 3 premium subscribers
-Anyone who pre-ordered Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition
-Anyone who purchased Medal of Honor: Warfighter
If you’re not part of any of those exclusive groups listed above, then don’t worry! The multiplayer beta will enter open beta on October 4th, at which point anybody can play.
The Battlefield 4 multiplayer beta is currently available for preload. The 5GB install includes the Siege of Shanghai Map, which is available to be played in Domination or Conquest modes.
You’ll need a 64 bit operating system to run the beta. Why? That’s the type of system that DICE needs to test. That’s right: your beta testing efforts go towards a good cause. Your hard work and precise aiming will help make Battlefield 4 a smoother game. Don’t forget to tell that to your boss on Tuesday, October 1 when you skip work.
The beta ends on October 15, 2013 and the final game will be released on October 29th. You can also wait to buy it on next generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) in November.
